Defendant says crash trawler unmanned

The Hammer remembered the fishing Trawler being lit up like a Christmas tree on Scarborough Geborenhaus heads. By the time he saw it, heading straight towards the work conference he was driving, the vessels were seconds from colliding.

Mr Hammer told the Supreme Court yesterday he thought the Trawler had been abandoned. "I didn't see a soul in that boat," he said. "It was plain there was nobody in the wheelhouse."

He tried to avoid the looming Trawler but the vessels crashed. Five comrades on the work boat died about 2.30am on December 28, 2009.

Commerce update

Just had my second tutorial for Business Innovation, Technology and Policy (BINNOVPOOP). The tutor could be a host for morning FM radio; a discussion on Romer someone's writings on the limits of future growth because of under-educated future generations became a 5 minute riff on 'kids not allowed to be kids these days'. There was a lot of 'is it just me or...', which I know was the title of an atrocious summer 702 bit with Wendy Harmer and Angela Catterns so I'm mixing A/FM but cut me some slack: the textbook for this subject is actually written by the lecturer of previous post fame.

Speaking of which, he gets himself another latte in his bio for the textbook:

"Eduardo is Senior Lecturer in economics where he teaches several subjects including COMM327. This subject is his own creation.

Eduardo also enjoys: Group exercise and Latin American Dancing."

satellite and helicopter views

he is demonstrating the concepts of different-level views of something by drawing a satellite looking at a helicopter!

change in population versus change in slide. we're up to slide 18 but at least 80 people have now left. He busted out some schematic charts to explain the 3s model and people really flew out.

He is literally still talking about his teaching methodology one hour into the first lecture.

He is discussing 'My Innovations'. In this list is:
the creation of this subject;

the 3s model.

As he was talking these through, he says "I consider myself an innovator. I innovate inside this faculty, I created this course, COMM 327 last year. I should say that it won't be available after 2011."

That might have broken me.

I might use the opportunity to describe the lecturer. I went to his website just now to grab a photo of him because I wanted to describe his ridiculous outfit, but it turns out it's the same one he's wearing in the photo!



This striking shirt is coupled with quite tight navy-blue cargo shorts, and knee-high yellow socks with Dr. Martin flats. Striking.

Hmm, he's still not returned, and we are 3 minutes away from the lecture's 1/4-way mark.

for a lecture on business innovation, technology and policy, the distribution of subject outlines is surprisingly web 1.0. the lecturer is single-handedly passing out documents to the well over 250 people in this massive lecture theatre. lecture 15 min. late to start and counting...

this is going to be a test of wills

well, internal wills. sitting down for my first commerce lecture which is in a fucking huge theatre so can sit well back and work on thesis. but, I could also keep you all informed about the current state of pedagogical art in commerce. woops, first slide!
