I gave the barmaatron a lift home yesterday, so when I came in this morning at 11.00 desperate for a brewskaa after my annual review she repayed me by demanding I take a free pony of cold red as well. then told me I need to hurry up and drive home because I look ratshit and that I should drink less!

stravinsky is just so insanely bad

A friend played me an LP of Stravinsky conducting Le Sacre du Printemps (The Rite of Spring). It is a stunning version, recorded in 1960. But even more stunning is this immensely rigorous photo that occupies the entire album cover:

Impressed, I went looking for a photo I'd heard existed but hadn't seen: a Stravinsky mug-shot. This was taken when he was arrested for using an unconventional chord in his arrangement of "Star-Spangled Banner". It was worth finding. The rigour!
